A character is any single letter, number, symbol, or punctuation mark. A font is a set of characters that have the same design. Each font has a unique name, such as Arial. Font sizes are measured in points. Point size refers to the height of characters. Another way to change the size of text is to select the text and click the Grow Font button to increase the font size or the Shrink font button to decrease the text.

In this exercise, you learn to use Word’s quick styles to apply paragraph styles and character styles to selected text and paragraphs within your document.
