Here we have week 1 of a series of literacy lessons to introduce Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It is all beautifully presented and clearly explained in my lesson plan sequence. In the lesson plan I have written some suggestions on how to differentiate activities from MA (more able) learners, Core learners and SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disability) groups of learners. I have included the resources with the file. This lesson is best suited upper Key Stage 1 or Lower Key Stage 2. However would be easily adapted.

Lesson 1: Predicting and inferring from an image from the story.
Lesson 2: Meet Charlie. Describe the character planning. Role on the Wall.
Lesson 3 (and potentially 4) Writing up the character description
Final Lesson: Questioning Charlie using Question Matrix and hot seat.

It would be nice also to show the children clips from the films also to give them an exciting experience. I also suggested that you may be able to give them a taste of cabbage soup just like Charlie!

There are many links to speaking and listening, role play, PSHE, art and PE even! With this text the possibilities are limitless!
