Circle Hunt!
Subject: Maths for early years
Age range: 3-5
Resource type: Worksheet/Activity

This fun Circle Hunt activity gives young learners the opportunity to practice recognising circles in familiar, everyday objects.
Children look carefully at a busy picture and search for the hidden circles. Once they find them, they colour each circle in. The activity encourages children to look closely, identify shapes within objects, and develop their visual discrimination skills while having fun.
How to Use
Give each child a copy of the Circle Hunt worksheet and encourage them to look carefully at all the objects in the picture.
Ask questions such as:
• “Can you find a circle?”
• “Where is the circle?”
• “What object has a circle?”
• “Can you colour the circle?”
Children can work independently, with a partner, or as a whole-class activity with the teacher displaying the worksheet on a large screen.
The activity is also great for encouraging vocabulary as children identify familiar objects such as a clock, plate, ball, cup, lamp, teddy bear, car and more.
What’s Included
