Counting and Estimation: Pigeons and Hedgehogs

The 'Pigeons and Hedgehogs' brainteaser is a counting and estimation activity. This activity develops good thinking skills for counting and estimation. The two part question can be given to students to think about individually or within group discussion. The activity can be used on the IWB or printed out and given to students as handouts.
