This PSHE and RSHE unit teaches children about online safety, digital safety and responsible internet use through a story-led approach. Designed for UK primary pupils in Years 1–6, it supports children to understand what the internet is, how it is used, and how to stay safe online through age-appropriate discussion, activities and real-life scenarios.
Pupils learn how to communicate safely online, why personal information should be kept private, and how to make safe and responsible choices when using websites, apps and digital platforms. Lessons support digital literacy, personal safety and positive online behaviour in line with UK PSHE and RSHE guidance.
The unit develops critical thinking through story-led lessons on fake news and misleading online advertising, helping pupils to question what they see online. Children also explore screen time, wellbeing and self-regulation, learning how to find a healthy balance between online and offline activities.
