I devised this little Maths resource as there are a couple of young people in one of the groups I take who are seemingly only interested in computer games. I thought this might pique their interest and get them adding / subtracting without realising it.

The resource has a main pdf reference sheet that features the prices of computer games for the 3 different consoles. There are 9 games listed for each console. You could start the activity by asking the question… '“So, I’m thinking of getting a computer console… which one is the best value?”. Students are encouraged to write down the cost for each game, work out the saving from the reduced price shown, and then calculate the overall total for the 9 games per console. They have to answer 10 subsequent questions on page 2 of the worksheet, which introduce more Level 1 aspects such as range and mean.
