I created this worksheet for my Year 9 students to commemorate the centenary of the D-day landings in Normandy in 2014 and I have used it again last year. Students can learn some facts about the 6th June 1944 landings and understand large numbers (the numbers vary hugely according to sources so it's difficult to be really accurate but they give students some idea of the amount of people/resources involved in this historical event).
