Using knowledge of various loci constructions, pupils use clue cards to find the location of the alien destroyer spaceship. Works as a consolidation / revision activity for Loci / constructions. This resource was made in the style of the DURHAM MATHS MYSTERIES (this is a must-see if you don’t know about it yet!) - as part of the Durham Pedagogy group.

A really nicely put together resource. However giving a list of possible points made it too easy for my high ability Yr10 class as they could work out what point the alien ship was at without having to do all the constructions. What might work better for a high ability class would be to remove the list of points and replace it with an instruction to shade the possible area that the ship could be in.

I love this. Great practice with loci, and fun too. There are no problems or complications with it - the background grid is helpful, full answers are at the back and the whole thing works. Excellent!

Great theme. Covers 3 main locus types (equal distance from a point, from 2 points and from a line). Thanks!
