Practise multiplying decimals by writing each one as a whole number divided by 10, 100 or 1000, so 0.6 × 0.04 = 6 ÷ 10 × 4 ÷ 100 = 24 ÷ 1000 = 0.024. 16 questions on one A4 page, full answers included.

Worksheet (questions 1 to 8): the first question uses a grid where each small square is 0.01, then the division frames fade as the decimals get smaller, ending with the cost of a length of ribbon and using 24 × 36 = 864 to find 2.4 × 0.36.

Further practice (questions 9 to 16): graded by difficulty. Calculations including answers like 0.040 that drop to 0.04, deciding which of two products is bigger, buying cheese by weight, the area of a rectangle, a missing number, change from £20 after buying fabric, and explaining why 3.6 × 1.4 is not 50.4.

Answers to all 16 questions are included as a separate file.

Suitable for GCSE Foundation (AQA N2) and for Key Stage 3 classes working on decimals.
