Short clips of music from various types of films - pupils have mini whiteboards and when they hear each clip, they write down what sort of film they think it is, what the film is like (scary, funny, etc) and what the film might include (aliens, fights, children, etc). My pupils loved doing this, they had some real debates over what sort of film they thought the music was from.
