This is a fun no- prep activity that revises Newton’s Laws of Motion for GCSE Physics and Combined Science.

Students should review their learning of Newton’s 3 Laws of Motion before they start. A summary of the laws has been added to the start since I first published this resource.

This lesson uses YouTube clips of people describing one of the laws through a song. It is a very cheesy lesson and lots of fun. It is set in the style of a Britain’s Got Talent competition with the students as the judges. It essentially tells the students the laws four times over in different ways, and my students can always recall the laws at the end- from top set classes to bottom.

The class watch each video clip to fact check it and complete slide 2 as they go. Ultimately they will vote on a winning act, so they must make notes and score each act. (I give them a copy of slide 2 but they can easily score each act int eh back of their book instead).

At the end of the competition there are some questions on the last slide about Newton’s 3 Laws of Motion.

If time allows, students could follow this activity by writing their own science newspaper article on the winning act or make a poster explaining Newton’s 3 Laws of Motions.

This resource includes images and YouTube links that are easily searched and found online without the need for any passwords.
