A board game provided so that students can practise saying their opinion on a variety of school subjects. (This a template that I have found on one of the Tes resources, I have adapted it and added vocabulary and pictures).
A differentiated Noughts and Crosses game to ensure consolidation of vocabulary, followed by a small quiz on reasons. You will need to print the A, B, C cards and give them to different groups of students to accompany the quiz. A red, amber and green card was created to assess students' progress at the end of the lesson. Print the words, cut, and ask students to place the words on the card (red column for words they cannot remember, amber for words they are unsure of and green for words assimilated during the lesson. Lollipop sticks with sentence openers will enable lower ability students start reflection on their learning. A visual vocabulary game was also created for differentiation purposes. This lesson is mainly aimed at a year 7 group (also suit a low ability group as support is given throughout).
