3 linked ‘lessons’ for emerging Entry 1 ESOL students in a UK context, on Asking for and Giving Personal Information.
Pack includes:
- Asking for Personal Information worksheet and slides.
- Narrow Reading worksheet and slides.
- Giving Personal Information and slides.
Worksheets are suitable for class use or independent study.
Slides accompany the worksheets and also include extra lesson content. Instructions for all activities are given in the speaker notes.
An editable version of the Narrow Reading texts is included so that you could change to include your own details.
Answers are not provided, as activities can be self-checked against the example sentences given.
This pack represents around 2-3 hours of activity depending on the level of the students. It is recommended to split the three ‘lessons’ over three days, interspersed with other activities, in order to allow for spaced and interleaved retrieval.
PLEASE NOTE: This resource is designed for emergent Entry 1 students and will not not be challenging enough if students are already consolidating at Entry 1.
PLEASE ALSO NOTE: Working slavishly through all the activities will be tedious. A range of activities are included so that you can choose the ones most suited to your context. It is advisable to judge the energy level in the room and include or skip activities as needed.
These activities follow an Extensive Processing Instruction approach to language learning, as promoted by Gianfranco Conti in his books and website: https://gianfrancoconti.com/
