This entire 11 lesson unit would work well on its own, or as a supplementary lessons to an existing unit. I've used it with Year 7 and Year 8. The feedback from them was that they really enjoyed it and it also contains a lesson which I received an "Outstanding" observation for.

The PowerPoint contains 59 slides. This is every lesson condensed and split lesson by lesson. This also includes speaking and listening tasks, a large written task, learning objectives, peer and self assessment opportunities, resources, group work, homework tasks and a final structured assessment based around the concept of Room 101.

Topics include: persuasive devices, analysing speeches of famous people, persuasive advertising and introductory lessons which would be a great way to get to know a class. The famous people I focus on are Emma Watson, Charlie Chaplin, Winston Churchill and Mel Gibson's speech from "Braveheart" (amongst othetrs). The advertising campaign features an Apprentice style lesson where groups have to put together a pitch on a product, including persuasive devices.

I have also attached some resources which are seperate to the PowerPoint to make life easier.
