In this lesson students learn words for school subjects and how to express their likes and dislikes. Dictionaries will be required for the opening ‘do-now’ activity. You may wish to substitute some of the tasks with listening and reading exercises from a textbook, however there should be enough material to cover a full lesson without.
Contents:
Do-now activity: write down school subject vocabulary and guess meanings
Learning objectives
Vocabulary introduction with pictures and words
Beat the teacher with pictures (teacher calls out vocab, students only repeat if correct)
Translation: can be done in exercise book.
Speaking: teacher models the question, selects students to respond (do 3-10 examples)
Speaking: Students practice asking/answering question with each other
Tic tac toe: Students can play with each other or as a whole classroom activity (spoken and/or written).
