Shakespeare - Macbeth, Act 1.4 -1.7 - New GCSE English Literature - Paper 1 Section A.

An engaging series of lessons (3 - 4 lessons) to accompany the reading of Act 1 Scenes 4, 5, 6 & 7 of Macbeth. using engaging videos (included) of different adaptations, both on stage and in film of these scenes to ensure pupils are exposed to the wide range of interpretations whilst reading the script.

Reading focusses which are structured in line with new GCSE Literature assessment objectives (AO1-3) and skills ensure purposeful and focussed reading, viewing and discussion to ensure pupils are developing their GCSE Literature skills throughout and are able to reflect and assess their own understanding effectively.

Following group and class discussion of each reading focus, model responses, annotations and key quote analysis are used to clarify and extend pupils understanding of Shakespeare's ideas, methods and contextual influences.
A closing discussion focusing on the quote 'false face doth hide...' reinforces pupils understanding of this theme.
