An engaging series of lessons (3 - 4 lessons) to accompany the reading of Macbeth, Act 2 Scene 1 and Scene 2 using engaging videos (included) of different adaptations, both on stage and in film of these scenes to ensure pupils are exposed to the wide range of interpretations whilst reading the script.
Reading focusses which are structured in line with new GCSE Literature assessment objectives (AO1-3) and skills ensure purposeful and focussed reading, viewing and discussion to ensure pupils are developing their GCSE Literature skills throughout and are able to reflect and assess their own understanding effectively.
Following group and class discussion of each reading focus, model responses, annotations and key quote analysis are used to clarify and extend pupils understanding of Shakespeare's ideas, methods and contextual influences. Strong focus on subject terminology and contextual influences is given in this series of lesson.
