An A3 character sheet on Sheila Birling to develop pupils’ understanding of An Inspector Calls context, its significance and Priestley’s intentions. This sheet includes some quote hunting and linking to an adjective to form a clear point, then linking the quotes to context, analysing WHY Priestley has included this contextual element and HOW the 1946 audience would react and WHY.
This is suitable for all exam boards, although I have developed this for the Pearson EDEXCEL GCSE English Literature specification.
Helpful for making students dig deeper and think about HOW and WHY with An Inspector Calls.
