This resource provides open comprehension questions on a carefully crafted passage about mental health.

It also includes 6 RELATABLE SCENARIOS depicting common teenage mental health challenges for group and subsequently whole class discussion, where students can explore various mental health issues, with supporting questions and reflect on how they might impact themselves or their peers.

Scenarios:

  • Emma’s stress and anxiety about schoolwork
  • Jack’s loss of interest in hobbies and social withdrawal
  • Sarah’s social anxiety
  • Chris’s mood swings and irritability
  • Alex’s struggles with self-esteem and social pressure
  • Liam’s panic attacks before exams and presentations

Also included are 3 creative tasks aimed at engaging students in active learning and expression. They offer students the opportunity to apply their understanding in meaningful ways.

These tasks include:

  • creating mental health awareness campaigns
  • producing podcast episodes
  • engaging in personal reflection journals
