Utterly compelling mini-documentary combines contemporary photographs and eye-witness accounts and a wax-cylinder recording of Chief Joseph. Content covers: allotment of land by the Act; perceptions of Nez Percé; Alice Fletcher and The Friends of the Indians; attitudes of The Friends of the Indians; delivering the act to the Native Americans; Chief Joseph’s response; Alice Fletcher divides the land; white settlers in the reservation; the fate of the Nez Percé. So: obviously, not uplifting, but necessary viewing.

18 questions for the 7-minute film. A very thorough starter / introduction to the topic.

Differentiated! Both versions look very similar, but “B” version has subtle clues. Questions right up to the end, no slack time! Creates a great intro / summary resource. Question sheet, answer sheet; .doc & .pdf. Link to video on all sheets. But don’t be daft, get it in the American West / USA Expansion and Consolidation bundle.
