Two interactive excel worksheets to use with interactive whiteboards, demonstrating the effects of various graphical transformations. Transformations1 - a general introduction to the basic transformations Transformations2 - a randomised review to assess if students has understood the basic transformation rules Suitable for GCSE and AS levels. Microsoft Excel is spreadsheet software, designed to manipulate and view numerical data such as statistics. You will need to allow macros to run when using most of the sheets available here. This can be checked by opening Excel and clicking Tools Macros Security and choosing Medium or Low security. Also, some sheets require you have Analysis ToolPak installed - this is found by clicking Tools Add ins (you may need the original MS Office disks to do this).

A nice resource. This is a very nice use of Excel and I particularly liked the way that the transformed shapes change as you vary the transformations by using the Excel scatter diagram. The sheets could easily be adapted to vary the shapes as well as the transformations thus making it somewhat more flexible and useful. I shall certainly use it alongside my own programme.

Transformtaions review. An excellent use of Excel, showing what is possible to be done. I would like to see more standard shapes, trangles, square, flag and perhaps the ability to designate the initial shapes by the use of coordinates.
