An RSHE lesson created to cover the new DfE 2026 guidelines for KS3/4:
**How to determine whether other children, adults or sources of information are trustworthy: judge when a family, friend, intimate or other relationship is unsafe (and to recognise this in others’ relationships); and, how to seek help or advice, including reporting concerns about others, if needed. The lesson is best suited to KS3. **
Students will investigate what we mean by trust, how to recognise when we can trust someone and will investigate what they would do in different situations by exploring real-life case studies. All answers are included. The lesson is entirely editable. It covers the DfE new 2026 guidance (see lesson plan) and will last you one hour. Lesson plan included.
Activities are scaffolded, there is a detailed and colourful PowerPoint, clip tasks, partnered tasks, active tasks, worksheets, literacy tasks, information pack, signposting to further help agencies and charities, clear outcomes and also progress measurers. Includes optional assessment sheet.

The lesson also examines the additional challenges some members of the LGBT+ community have to face in order to achieve this, such as (depending on a person’s background), cultural, family or religious expectations. There is also a focus on how dating apps (and those tailored to LGBT+ individuals in particular) don’t always prioritise long-term relationship seekers and why this causes further issues for those after a committed relationship. 7) Trust PSHE - An RSHE lesson created to cover the new DfE 2026 guidelines for KS3.
