This a one-off lesson that would work well within a poetry unit. It is studying and analyzing the poem 'The Unknown Citizen' to prepare students to understand unseen texts. The lesson is focused on differentiation in terms of 'stretch and challenge'. I used this lesson for a top set Year 10 and it was extremely successful in challenging the whole groups as well as G&T individuals. Included in this is a PPT, Task Ladders (x4), a document of the poem and cards for designated groups- all you need to decide is which student needs to work on which skill. Enjoy!

Have not yet used, but am going to use this in my next top set, year 10 class I teach - looks really useful. Questions on the task ladders will lead to interesting debate within the teams/groups and will get them working collaboratively - 34 heads better than 1!
