Y6 SATs Reading - Full revision set

This is a comprehensive set of Year 6 Reading Revision to help your children pass the SATs reading test. I have found Reading slightly challenging to teach through Guided Reading and therefore, have spent a lot of time developing a new method which has been much more successful!

I have broken each of the assessment focuses down and worked on these with the children for a couple of works, really developing their skills in each area and exposing them to the styles of questions, vocabulary and techniques necessary to answer the questions.

This set of revision has lesson plans, resources, texts, questions and fully developed and comprehensive powerpoints in the following areas:

1. Retrieval [6 lessons]
2. Inference [5 lessons]
3. Author choice [7 lessons]
4. Vocabulary and word meaning [8 lessons]
5. Answering 3 mark questions [4 lessons]
6. Summarising [2 lessons]
7. Ordering events [5 lessons]
8. Predicting [2 lessons]

Each of the lesson is fully resourced, with a detailed powerpoint and varied activities designed to expose the children to as many different questions as possible. I then develop test techniques and skills which the children can easily apply to the test.

This is the second year of using this and the progress I have seen has been fantastic. It would be an excellent resource to use in your reading lessons in the run up to SATs.
