Year 8 Life Skills Lessons

Complete set of year 8 life skills lessons, follows the PSHE association SOW and goes a long way to fulfilling statutory guidelines for PSHE in schools including the new RSE requirements.

I was the Head of Life Skills at a secondary school for 3 years and planned and created all of these resources myself. I used the PSHE association SOW as a guideline and have created a 4 year PSHE program that ticks almost every box. There are some topics that I have not covered because I feel these would be better taught by an external person coming into school to give a talk or a workshop.

Included here is the year 8 section totaling 19 lessons that would be a years worth of teaching if classes were held every other week. The scheme has been condensed so if you have more lessons you will be able to cover the content over a longer period of time.

I have made sure that the scheme requires as few resources as possible as I am very aware that a lot of schools use non-specialist PSHE teachers and the subject is often tagged onto a timetable. This scheme will allow a group of non specialists to teach life skills or PSHE with no planning and little preparation.
