Plate tectonics + Volcanoes

Plate tectonics + Volcanoes

I used this lesson for an interview lesson and the basis was to review and recap plate tectonics and then do a whistle stop tour of a volcanic eruption case study (Mt Merapi). Within the lesson convection currents (as a starter task) and then onward the structure of the earth and briefly plate tectonics are briefly reviewed and explored using hyperlinked video and maps/images. The volcanic eruption case study is introduced, as with a reminder on primary and secondary effects with a consolidation learning task to categorised some key primary and secondary effects. On the supporting differentiated workshet there is a challenge task. Plenary task - to summarise learning from the lesson. FYI - the lesson was a huge success and I got the job!
