The following resource is a revision lesson on genetics split into two main activities: 1. A differentiated review worksheet that pupils complete that covers the fundamental ideas (Worksheet on the powerpoint). Full answers are given on the power point for peer/self assessment. 2. A Review learning grid. Pupils work in pairs and answer questions in order to earn points. Fully engaging when coupled with simple prizes (merits or even material prizes) *Pupils roll a set of dice and move to the corresponding grid co-ordinate. They answer the question in their book and earn the points. Questions have different levels of difficulty to challenge all pupils. Comment on other ways you use the grid!

This is a single lesson taken from the KS3 electricity bundle and follows on from the first lesson on resistance. However, it can be used as a stand alone lesson on investigating resistance. The lesson is fully differentiated into Low, Mid, High and GCSE tasks and can be fully adaptable to any scale of learning (e.g. AWOL, 9-1). Pupils will: 1. Continue exploring resistance (Requires lesson 1 (see other resources) /Can be used for a stand alone lesson 2. Explore the idea of diagnostic skills when forming circuits 3. This is a single lesson on the reflection of light from a plane mirror. The lesson is contextual and based on a driver involved in a car collision who may/may not have looked in their wing mirror. (The idea is they have to determine if the driver could see the lights of the car he overtook) The lesson is fully differentiated into Low, Mid, High and GCSE tasks and can be fully adaptable to any scale of learning (e.g. AWOL, 9-1). Pupils will: 1. Become forensic scientists to determine the law of reflection (requires ray boxes, mirrors and protractors. There are paper protractors available on the .ppt) 2. Draw/complete ray diagrams using the law of reflection for different scenarios (MID/HIGH worksheets are on the .ppt) 3. Determine the % chance that the driver was reckless or telling the truth 4. Write a conclusion based on their findings Worksheets and materials available on the .ppt.
