Q&A - A series of thought provoking questions that learner will answer individually and then take part in a group discussion to share thoughts and opinions. This Flashcards Bundle evidences ways in which Shakespeare has highlighted Macbeth as a Tragic Hero (set 1), used the supernatural to develop characters (set 2) and intorduce the theme of guilt and anxiety in the play. (Set 3) Set 1 - The quotes, one from each act evidence ways in which Shakespeare has used the supernatural to develop characters and also to move forward the plot. However, each quote also has relevance to other themes. Set 2 - The quotes, one from each act, evidence ways in which Shakespeare has highlighted Macbeth as a tragic hero. A tragedy play in Shakespeare’s time begins with qualities in a hero that are admired. The hero is loved and there is an element of celebrity and role model. Then a weakness is highlighted and manipulated to bring down the hero with tragic consequences. Set 3 - The quotes, one from each act, evidence ways in which Shakespeare has highlighted the theme of guilt and anxiety in the play. It is interesting in Macbeth that Macbeth as a military general had no difficulty in applying violent acts to kill his enemy but could not handle emotionally or mentally the murder of King Duncan. This brings into play questions of right and wrong and integrity and honour. This 5 series BUNDLE of resources have been created for those Teaching and Studying the City & Guilds Employability Skills Award/Certificate/Diploma (5546) The qualification itself is made up of many Units all of which require assessment that can present evidence and demonstrate that all learning outcomes have been met. This BUNDLE of Workbooks include various challenges, activities and tests to prove learners understanding and collate the evidence required to confirm they have met all outcomes and can be used as a Final Assignment. Each page has a header that includes the individual outcomes covered and can be assessed easily and then signed off. These can be completed by the individual learners as a final assignment or as a group if delivered as a workbook and would normally follow 2 - 3 sessions of underpinning knowledge, group activities, research tasks and relevant delivery. Learners are tasked with estimating various measurements from the tallest to the heaviest, longest to shortest etc. They are then challenged to convert those amounts to an alternative form of measurement i.e. litre to pints, miles to Kilometres etc Time for a Holiday The second resouces starts with a warm up activity and tests the learner’s knowledge of Seaside towns in the UK and their locations. Great task to use on a SMART Board or in separate groups on A3 paper. It then requires them to study a series of weather graphes and answer questions to confirm they are able to read and extract the correct information. The final task involves budgeting a holiday to Newquay using a fictional scenario and an allowance of £650. Possible Extension Tasks Task 1 - Ask learners to find the location of other towns and activities. Task 2 - Extend questions to work out the Mean, Mode and Median. Task 3 - Limit Budget or change the scenario to make it more challenging. Reading Timetables This 3rd resource focuses on ‘Reading Timetables’. Learners are tasked with studying 3 examples, a Bus Timetable, a Swimming Pool Timetable and a College Session Timetable and then extracting the information required to answer the set questions and confirm understanding. The questions can be answered individually or collectively by cutting them into cards. The larger A3 versions (included) can be displayed and the group can carousel around the room. Alternatively, the questions could be called out by the tutor for a more active learning experience. Lots of scope for interpretation, the resources also included some blank question sheets so learners can create some peer to peer questioning.
