This scheme of learning is for the novel 'MacB' by Neil Arksy based on Shakespeare's Macebeth. I have all the resources to accompany attached. This scheme has been used for KS3 class so it is challenging and explores extracts from the original as well as other texts such as Anne Frank. Most worksheets are differentiated.

This resource pack includes a full lesson(s) on how to analyse a key extract. This skill is now applicable for the new specification GCSE so it is important that KS3 learners are embedding this learning early on. I have found that this lesson worked well with a year 9 class, so it can be used for high ability KS3 learners. However, I have also found it could work as part of Paper 1A as a practice extract.

This pack contains a lesson with a differentiated analysis grid, the extract for analysis and a model response for students to use. A good lesson for high ability KS3 learners who are looking at GCSE skills/AOs studying the text or can be used as an extract for AQA paper 1 (you would need to remove the section regarding the wider novel if you were to use it this way).

These 2 lessons concentrate on a speech and on an extract from chapter 19 - Tom's testimony. There is an extract attached and a differentiated model response for students to use/analyse.

I made this lesson for my year 7 high ability class but it could be adapted for a low ability GCSE class studying the text for the new GCSE.

This PowerPoint acts as a lesson plan for a lesson on non-verbal communication. Work through the first few slides asking pupils about the significance of signs and symbols. Use the activity cards and pupils should act out actions. Develop by doing a thought shower on slang words and text speech and finish by setting homework to write a text to the class teacher.

This activity allows pupils to have either a device or a definition of a technique. The students have to interact with one another to decipher who their partner will be. Good starter activity.
