A 2 hour lesson used to introduce product design/development for L1/L2 business studies or enterprise students. 3 different client briefs which can be easily differentiated, including a range of business related tasks which are time bound. Can easily be adapted or stretched into looking at market research, or broken down and covered over more sessions for foundation level students. Links to career progression as key part of the assignment is to research careers that students are interested in and look at the skills/qualifications and qualities required for these. Planned to use with OCN /AIM L1 skills for living and work but can easily be adapted to suit different awarding bodies or used as standalone non accredited work with groups or one to one. Initial lesson included as a guide to how this has been delivered.

15 page workbooks at levels 1 and 2 aimed at developing communication skills in the workplace. Developed for use with small groups of students with additional needs this resources can be easily edited and differentiated to suit. Links to the criteria within the OCN/AIM qualifications but can be easily adapted for other awarding bodies, small group/121 work or non accredited home study. Gives the student a vocational context (working at a chocolate company and being asked to produce a seasonal product), students are encouraged to learn and think about different methods for communicating with colleagues at work, positive and negative communication and the impact of this. They are also tasked with creating a prototype product, embedding key literacy and numeracy skills. A varied mis of tasks to support engagement.

Originally created for use with students during the lockdown period but would be suitable for 1 hour lessons in class. Created for students working at entry level 3 and level 1, foundation studies in further education. Four PowerPoint presentations covering healthy lifestyles: Lesson 1 - What makes a balanced diet? Food groups. Lesson 2 - Impact of a healthy/unhealthy lifestyle on health and more detail on some health conditions. Lesson 3 - Benefits of exercise + what happens to the body when you exercise. Lesson 4 - What vitamins A-K and Iron to for the body and health conditions that can be caused by a poor diet. Lesson 5-7 - emotional, physical and mental wellbeing. This follows and links to the unit of Healthy Lifestyles from the OCN Skills for Living and Work qualification but can be easily adapted to suit other curriculum.
