Art Appreciation for Grades 1-2

(0)
This 36 lesson course introduces children in the early elementary grades to fine art with 36 different wholesome and delightful kid-friendly paintings by famous artists. The subjects of these paintings are children and their pets, farm animals, flowers, and birds. The children in the paintings are doing a variety of things, including cuddling their pets, having a tea party, playing in the sand, pretending to doctor patients, and being read to by Grandma. In one painting, a girl is standing next to a very big dog, seeing if she is as tall as he is. With each painting is a single paragraph of simple questions designed to get kids to relate to the paintings and develop their observation skills. All you have to do is to either print out the paintings from your computer or show them to your child on your computer screen, and talk about what is in each painting using our provided questions, and/or choosing questions of your own. This will prepare your young children for the other levels of this course series. Our grades 3 and 4 art appreciation course is also available in our store. It goes a step further by introducing art terms and concepts through similar (but higher level) discussion questions. This course includes the biographies of 4 artists at an early elementary level. It also includes a student worksheet template and 2 painting scavenger hunts (in both color and gray-scale for printing, along with answer keys). 47 usable pages This book is reproducible for all students living in the same home as the book’s purchaser.

"Ocean Fish" Art & Nature Unit for Little Kids

(0)
Do you love our Art & Nature Science Units, but have children too young to use them? We are now producing a new series with our Art & Nature Science Units (which are back issues of our colorful magazine for kids that is no longer in production) adapted for smaller children (grades 1-3). Now if you plan to use our Ocean Fish nature unit for a multilevel unit study in your homeschool, you can order our regular version for grades 4-8 and our “Little Kids” version for grades 1-3. That means you can do art (3 or more months worth) with grades 1-8 together, and science with grades 1-6 together. If you just give our nature units to your kids for enjoyment (with or without homeschooling), you can give your 1st through 3rd graders their own version of the Ocean Fish nature unit that they can understand and enjoy in addition to giving our regular Ocean Fish nature unit to your children in grades 4-8. (Our nature units are enjoyable to 1st through 8th graders and suitable in art for 4th grade through beyond 8th grade level.) Because recreating our nature units for younger children takes a lot of work, this is the only Art & Nature Science Unit for which we have produced a “Little Kids” version so far.

Also includes pictures to color of more than half of the animals in their natural surroundings. No more boring penmanship! Have you ever heard of an addax? What about a capybara, fennec, ibex, kinkajou, or numbat? How about an okapi, pangolin, quokka, or saiga? Or what about an uakari or a zorille? If you haven’t heard of these strange and unusual animals, you will really enjoy our Animals You Never Heard Of penmanship series, which starts with this book. Kids will love getting to know these unusual animals. Each page includes text in cursive, copywork lines, plus word puzzles added as a bonus for when the copywork is done. We also give you 2 colorfully decorated extra copywork pages in 2 line sizes, plus a word search that includes all 26 unusual mammals. Your kids will also be inspired by the fact that some of the illustrations are by family artists educated at home. This book was inspired by the extensive research of our homeschooled middle son, Judah. "Bearing Fruit as a Christian (NASB)" Cursive Penmanship

Do you want to equip your children to be useful in God’s Kingdom? This book will help teach your children the importance of being useful to God (bearing fruit) as emphasized by Jesus Himself in His teachings. Our Artistic Bible Copywork series combines Bible verses, penmanship copywork, and art. Our goal with this series is to familiarize kids with the Scriptures in an enjoyable context. Through careful use of the books in this series, you can even help your children keep these Bible passages in their hearts, entrusted to their memory. “Your word I have treasured in my heart, that I may not sin against You.” (One way to do this is to have them do the same copy page several days in a row, while saying the verse together as a family to learn it by heart.) It is so vitally important for our children to know the Bible and its teachings. This book presents children with verses in the New American Standard Bible (NASB) version selected from all 4 Gospels that show how God requires those who repent and trust in Him to bear fruit in keeping with their repentance. Copying these verses, doing the activities and coloring the many pictures of fruit that adorn these pages makes Scripture copywork a beautiful experience. Some of the verses to copy come with a question or 2 to answer, helping your children focus on the meaning of what they have just copied. This book includes: 46 Gospel verses to copy on the topic of Bearing Fruit 12 mystery verses for kids to figure out by word clues and fill in (in cursive) 7 crossword puzzles for review 4 high-quality realistic coloring pages 3 decorated verse posters to color 2 word search puzzles including the Fruits of the Spirit and another mystery verse in word search form 14 extra lined pages in different line sizes (4 decorated with color pictures and 10 with pictures in grayscale) Make copying and learning Bible verses a delightful experience for your child! 63 usable pages The professional handwriting font set used in our penmanship books is used by public schools across the U.S. This book is reproducible for all students living in the same home as the book’s purchaser.

A Treasury of Bible Verses on Love (KJV) to Copy in Cursive

(0)
Children learn to focus on loving and helping each other when they copy what the Bible says about love and answer questions about what the Bible verses mean. A Treasury of Bible Verses on Love is part of our Artistic Bible Copywork series, which combines Bible verses, penmanship copywork, and art. Our goal with this series is to familiarize kids with the Scriptures in an enjoyable context. Through careful use of the books in this series, you can even help your children keep these Bible passages in their hearts, entrusted to their memory, helping to fulfill Psalm 119:11: “Your word I have treasured in my heart, that I may not sin against You.” (One way to do this is to have them do the same copy page several days in a row, while saying the verse together as a family to learn it by heart.) It is so vitally important for our children to know the Bible and the love that it inspires in us. In this book we have chosen 78 verses from the King James Version (KJV) of the Holy Scriptures about what love is and the importance of Christian love, put them in a true cursive font, and added stained glass designs to color, so that each page feels like the making of a masterpiece your child (or teen) can feel proud of creating. This makes Scripture copywork a beautiful experience. Each Bible passage to copy comes with a question or two to help your children focus on the meaning of the verse(s) they have just copied. In addition, this book includes 12 beautiful Scripture posters to color and put up on your bulletin board or your child’s bedroom wall. Make copying Bible verses a delightful experience for your child! 65 usable pages The professional handwriting font set used in our penmanship books is used by public schools across the U.S. This book is reproducible for all students living in the same home as the book’s purchaser. Please note: The verses in this book are taken from the King James (Authorized) Version (KJV) of the Bible. This book is also available with the same verses taken from the New American Standard Bible (NASB).

"An Elegant Floral Alphabet" Cursive to Trace and Copy

(0)
We have made handwriting practice delightful by creating beautifully illustrated pages in color with gorgeous flowers and fancy letters on each page, one for each letter of the alphabet. When your daughter (or son—many boys like this book, too!) traces or copies each sentence about yet another girl name and flower, she is taking part in completing a work of art, not just doing copy work. That makes handwriting pure delight. We start by teaching the cursive letters with dotted lines to trace, introduced in order of difficulty (the easy ones first). Throughout the book, each exercise appears in dotted letters to trace as well as in solid letters with blank lines to copy on. We also give you beautiful coloring pages to go with more than half of the exercises. You can use these as reward pages, or simply as art to go with handwriting. Plus we give you Bible verse posters, extra copy-work pages in color to use as you choose, and a flower word search puzzle at the end. Each page has a word scramble or other word game to add to the fun. Your daughter will love this book! (Many boys will be more motivated by our cursive penmanship book full of creatures that move along the ground, “Crawly Critters” Cursive Penmanship A-Z.) Sixty-three (63) usable pages of beginning cursive practice that will interest and motivate your children to do their best handwriting. "Sea Mammals" Art & Nature Science Unit

Come visit the fascinating world of lovable Sea Mammals in this Art & Nature-Science Unit. It contains 76 pages of delightful pictures, poems, articles, and art lessons about dolphins, porpoises, whales, and seals—from the up-to-110 foot blue whale that can hold an entire football team on its tongue, to the cute little 5 foot long ringed seal that can dive down 1,640 feet deep. We have included fun tables for your kids to compare the sizes of whales, speeds and leap heights of dolphins, and deep diving records of seals. Your kids will read about dolphin intelligence, whale watching, and our editor’s experiences petting a baby killer whale. They will learn about pinnipeds and cetaceans, including deep ocean cachalot whales, singing humpback whales and a man who composes cello music to go with their songs, delightful white beluga whales, and even a little whale with a long horn reminiscent of unicorns! They will learn about 3-ton (6,000-pound) elephant seals, trick-performing sea lions, cute little furry harp seals, and walruses feeling their way around in the dark depths of the Arctic Ocean, eating over 6,000 mollusks from the ocean bottom each day. How are they able to dive down so far and stay down so long without running out of breath? At each turn we share with your kids the understanding that these incredible feats of nature can only happen through design by an intelligent Creator, God. In this issue we have included more than 20 coloring pages, beautifully done, in most cases with our colored picture examples for your kids to learn from. They will definitely improve their art abilities as they learn about color gradations, as the light aqua water at the ocean’s surface fades gradually into darker shades of turquoise and darker and darker blues. We show them how to portray the ocean’s sunshine surface as a sea mammal looks upward from beneath the water. And they’ll learn about reflecting sunset skies in the water, too. This issue contains more than a dozen paintings of the sea (including sailboats) by famous artists for your kids to enjoy, discuss, and in some cases seek to replicate, in order to learn the simple art principles that they convey. We feature artist Winslow Homer and discuss how he creates cheerful or anxious moods depending on the colors he uses. And we share our own family drawings of dugongs, beluga whales and seals (drawn by our kids at ages 13 and 15). Best of all, we give you an exciting 2-page article about archaeological discoveries that may confirm the crossing of the Red Sea by Moses and the Children of Israel by God’s incredible miracles. So get ready to be inspired! Download and get started on your Art & Nature-Science Unit on Sea Mammals today! "God, Our Refuge" (KJV) Psalms to Copy in Cursive

Are you facing tough times in your family or your home school? Do you want to help equip your children to be able to face hardships in their future? This book will help teach your children to take refuge in God as their stronghold in times of trouble. “Thy Word have I hid in my heart, that I may not sin against Thee.” (One way to do this is to have them do the same copy page several days in a row, while saying the verse together as a family to learn it by heart.) It is so vitally important for our children to know the Bible and its teachings. This book presents children with verses selected from the Psalms (along with Proverbs and 2 of the Old Testament prophets) that show how God is a stronghold to those who trust in Him. Copying these verses and then coloring the pictures, including scenes of castles and stained-glass window patterns, makes Scripture copywork a beautiful experience. Some of the verses to copy come with a question or 2 to answer to help your children focus on the meaning of what they have just copied. Make copying and learning Bible verses a delightful experience for your child! 43 usable pages The professional handwriting font set used in our penmanship books is used by public schools across the U.S. This book is reproducible for all students living in the same home as the book’s purchaser. Please note: The verses in this book are taken from the King James (Authorized) Version (KJV) of the Bible. This book is also available with the same verses taken from the New American Standard Bible (NASB).

Beach Math for Preschoolers

Beach Math for Preschoolers is a colorful first counting book with beautiful ocean scenes for kids to count colorful coral reef fish, playful dolphins, inquisitive sea birds, and delightful seashells. As children learn each new number, they can use the accompanying worksheets designed for preschool children, even those whose hands are not ready to write. Highly gifted 3-year-olds, early 4’s, and normal 5- to 6-year-olds who are about to start First Grade will all enjoy this book. There are 4 to 6 colorful counting pages for each number (1-10), followed by a coloring page with large numbers to trace, or if the child isn’t ready to trace numbers he or she can color a bush shaped like the correct number. The worksheets that follow include more than one number bush. The child counts the beach creatures and then colors the bush that shows the correct number. Dotted numbers are also available in very large print on each worksheet for practice. Starting with the number 6, there are fewer bushes to color and more numerals to trace and circle, plus several rows of animals to count, with 3 or more numbers to choose between. Kids circle the numeral that goes with the number they counted on each row. This book is the first in a series of colorful preschool books created by Joymarie, with black and white and low-toner-volume worksheets to print out to go with the colorful talk-about activity pages to do with your preschool child on-screen. (See the second book in this series: Backyard Counting for Preschoolers.) This book is reproducible for all students living in the same home as the purchaser.

A Treasury of Christmas Carols in Manuscript to Trace and Color

(0)
This large-print manuscript penmanship book with its richly colored, lavish illustrations focused on the story of Jesus’ birth is a delightful way for kids to practice their handwriting while focusing on Christmas. We created this book as a way to draw the family together during the Christmas season. Our kids loved to make Christmas last, from the first of December to the new year. Why not combine Christmas celebration and handwriting practice as your kids learn the words to multiple verses of favorite Christmas carols by tracing or copying them in manuscript printing? For each of 14 Christmas carols, we provide each verse of each carol in large-size (32-point) dotted manuscript printing cursive to trace, plus the same verse in solid print for kids to copy using the 11 decorated lined pages, in 5 line sizes, at the back of the book. Includes 2 bonus carols in solid print for copying (these do include 2 of the verses each to trace). We also include coloring pages depicting scenes from the story of the birth of Jesus, as well as pictures to color of families celebrating Christmas around the world. You are allowed to print out the pages for all family members in your same household year after year. We suggest putting the finished carol pages in a notebook and using it to sing the Christmas carols, either just as a family or with guests. Let this book be a jump off point to instill in your children a love for singing and a special place in your family schedule for singing Christmas carols every year at Christmas time. You can also purchase our Christmas music CD, Christmas Carols, Sweet and Clear (available on this site), which includes 10 of the carols that are in this book, for your children to listen to while they do the handwriting practice on these pages, or to provide the accompaniment as they sing along with it. The 16 songs included in this book are: O Little Town of Bethlehem What Child is This? Angels We Have Heard on High While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks By Night The First Noel Silent Night Away in a Manger O Come All Ye Faithful Hark! The Herald Angels Sing Joy to the World It Came Upon a Midnight Clear O Holy Night In the Bleak Midwinter Of the Father’s Love Begotten Our coloring pages include many different views of the Nativity scene, manger animals, angels, Jesus blessing the children, Jesus triumphant entry, black folk leaving slavery behind, men and horses working in a barn, the Mexican tradition of Las Posadas, children caroling, children gazing at nativity scenes, magnificent Mount Shasta, and a waterfall scene near Mount Ranier. All coloring pictures are relevant to one or another verses in the Christmas carols. The professional handwriting font set used in our penmanship books is used by public schools across the U.S. This book is reproducible for all students living in the same home as the book’s owner.
