Lesson Targets Be able to identify similarities and differences between water, light and sound waves. Be able to use the word superposition in a sentence which explains how waves move Starter- Name as many thing that travel in waves, WATER, LIGHT , SOUND ,ANY EM WAVES Main- Demonstrations, writing task. Pupils must make notes of on the similarities and differences between light and sound waves. Complete the summary task on slide 9. must be done on a separate sheet of paper to take home. This is a PowerPoint for a KS3 class. It has details of a practical and resources required. Pupils make their own lenses and then work through how to find the focal length of a lens themselves. There are plenty of opportunities to expand for higher ability differentiation.
