Preparation of a pure organic liquid
A bundle of resources on the A-Level chemistry required practicals “preparation of a pure organic liquid”. In the A-level exams students will be tested on an organic preparation and this resource helps prepare students for any of the options that could come up in the exam. There are a set of 6 knowledge organisers based on the following practicals: Oxidation of ethanol, oxidation of butan-2-ol, preparation cyclohexene, preparation of iodobutane, preparation of bromobutane and chlorination of 2-methyl-propan-2-ol. Each knoweldge organiser contains the method, apparatus diagram and additional information about the purpose of refluxing, distillation , washing, drying etc. Each step in the practical is explained.
