A 10-lesson unit of work made for UKS3/KS4 based upon the Existence of God topic. Much time, effort and love has gone into this unit of work because it will be used trust-wide across our network of secondary schools (in Year 9, in our case but easily adaptable). Includes many opportunities for exam-style questions based upon the Edexcel GCSE format with appropriate cheat-sheets including sentence starters, helpful quotes and formatting hints. There are also opportunities for debates with planning sheets and clear rules, as well as creative activities to keep the children engaged whilst they’re learning. Topics include: What proof is there of God? (2 hour-long lessons) How does God show his love for us? A bundle of 5 fully resourced hour-long lessons with worksheets, ppts, videos, scaffolding and frayer models - just print and go. Much time, effort and love has been put into this bundle of lessons as I made it as a scheme of work to be used across our entire trust of academies. Lesson 1 - What was so radical about Jesus? Lesson 2 - Was Jesus the Messiah? Lesson 3 - Was Jesus really a pacifist? Lesson 4 - Why did Jesus associate with sinners? Lesson 5 - Was Jesus the ultimate feminist? MTP also included in the bundle if you need it for your paperwork, although the lesson ppts and worksheets are absolutely user-friendly because they have been made with subject non-specialists in mind. Lesson one starts off with a historical mystery - where has a buried skull come from? It then feeds through to information about the Celts, before getting the children to create a leaflet about the Celts. There are also gift vouchers, additional problem sheets and shopkeeper responsibilities that can be shared out and help to differentiate. I set this up as a proper shop using my highest achievers as shop-keepers. We used play money, set the classroom up as a shop and had some items set out for children to ‘buy’.

Three lessons based upon the Ancient Greece topic. The first lesson is a ppt presentation which uses true/false format questions to engage the children in learning about Modern Greece. The children will then produce a leaflet about Modern Greece. The second lesson is about daily life in Ancient Greece. Again there's a ppt presentation as well as cards to cut out and order for a hands-on activity. The children will then sketch an aspect of life in Ancient Greece to create a classroom display. The third lesson is about gods and goddesses in Ancient Greece with various discussion opportunities and mini activities. The children will then sketch and write about different Greek gods. I originally produced these resources for use in a high-achieving Year 4 class but they can very easily be adapted for different ages and abilities.
