Our World, Relationships, Is it fair and Looking for meaning , board markscheme and various different text books to make sure that the pupils have more than enough to get top marks. I put the question up, get the pupils to tell me what they think the answer is, discuss it in relation to the mark scheme and what they already know and then give them the answer to write down in their books. I then set a hw for them to learn them off by heart and then test them the next lesson - although they moan, they actually like receiving grades! Hope this helps you. Please leave a comment.
Can I categorise the different types of miracles that Jesus performed?
Can I summarise some of the miracles of Jesus and explain why He performed them? Puts them in historical context and then relate them to modern day miracles - do they still happen?
Lots of examples of different AQA 12 mark questions for paper 1 with answers for some to use in revision. You could use these as a basis for your lesson to stimulate discussion and debate. I have used a number of different books in order to get quite a bit of information and therefore evidence of reading around in their answers. (Even if I have done it not them!!) Hope this helps. Lesson on what happens when a baby is born in Islam and why it happens, If you have any Muslim children in your class you can ask them to talk about their own experiences with siblings, cousins, etc. I find this helps the pupils remember a lot more than me telling them!
When Jesus was baptised and John the Baptist. Includes youtube clip - can also use scene from 'The Nativity' where Zechariah is struck silent when God tells him about John being born. Emphasis also on key terms
Good Samaritan and Prodigal Son why did Jesus teach in parables, etc. Includes youtube clip on Good Samaritan and then some work on the Golden Rule. I have got some modern versions in youth work resources which I find a good intro for the pupils as they are not 'from the Bible.'
Differentiated and levelled lessons on Hindu Mandir - what it is, how it is used, etc. Resources are differentiated according to the different level and the levels are referred to throughout. This should help pupils know what they need to do to achieve. Hope this helps. Please leave a comment.
Define the terms belief, fact & opinion. Discuss the difference between the two with examples. Useful for pupils to get their heads around the idea of what actually is a belief and the fact that we all believe in something we are religious or not. Hope this helps. Please leave a comment
Worksheet with blank storyboard of Jesus' baptism with the story written simply underneath - pupils just need to illustrate each box. This is suitable for a hw or lower ability pupils.
Reasons why people believe in God - focusing on all the main reasons: upbringing, etc. And then relating to the exam questions. The pupils like to talk about the reasons why they believe in God too and I find this helps a lot when answering the exam questions as they like to know about each other!
Not perfect but you may find some of the info or tasks useful
Looking at what obects are used in worship and how.
Pupils may find it useful to also draw a diagram/their own temple. Most of the standard textbooks have examples
