A set of exam style questions for paper 2, along with a mark scheme. Also includes additional familiarisation questions for paper 1 and 2 along with suggested answers. All based on the 2026 preliminary material for AQA Level 3 Certificate in Mathematical Studies. The additional questions are called “Set B” and “Set C” as the first ones are available freely on my website. Please note that these resources may be available without payment after the 2026 exams series.

This is my collection of resources for Core Maths (AQA Level 3 Mathematical Studies). I’ve been teaching it since 2018 and have developed them as I’ve gone. Here's a cool twist on a worksheet. Students answer questions and then, based on the answer decide to shade a square or not. If correct, the QR code is readable. The content of the questions is not that exciting but I wanted others to be able to see the idea and adapt it for their own uses.

This cute power point introduces factor bugs as a fun way of getting pupils to find factors of numbers. The bugs have legs which are usually in pairs. There’s also the Prime Minister bug.

A good, light-hearted opportunity to allow students to practise their finding percentages of a quantity skills. Works as a starter or plenary. You might want to check the content for your students (as one of the questions involves being kissed by supermodels).

For all teachers of maths, this is a guide in booklet form about how you can view Creativity in Maths. What does it mean to be creative and how can you provide opportunities for creativity? There are five puzzles/tasks included in a ready to print format.

This is intended to be printed out (possibly A3 size) and put on students' tables so that they can refer to them when they're working through surds work. The publisher file is in case you'd like to edit it yourself.

The is a Christmas themed adaptation of Paul Collin's Pirate game (adapted with permission). A great end of term activity that still contains some maths. The multiple copies of documents are the same but are just for people with older versions of word.

If you want to run a Paper 2 Core Maths mock for the 2025 exam, using the new preliminary material, then this is the resource for you. I’ve written questions about the 2025 preliminary material that you can use to replace questions 1 and 2 from the 2024 real exams. That way, you can keep the majority of the real questions while having updated ones that reflect the preliminary material your students have to work with in the actual 2025 paper 2. I’ve also attempted to write a useable mark scheme for the questions I’ve written to supplement the official mark scheme for the remaining questions. Suitable for all three options: 2A, 2B and 2C Of course, you could just use these questions as a part of your revision if you don’t want/need to use them in a mock.

This power point provides you with a guide as to how we know v2 is irrational. Works well for KS4 and KS5 students as I find that many of them are not content with just being told that surds are non-recurring, non-terminating. You will need to present this to students - they're unlikely to follow it by themselves.
