The poem is perfect for kick-starting discussion about Dr. Martin Luther King, who was and continues to be a wonderful role model for racial equality, unity, and peace in our world.

Suggested Activities:

• Students research dictionary definitions for all words on the cover image
• Place words in alphabetical order
• Write 6 of the words in sentences
• Create Acrostic Poems for Dr. King/Martin Luther King… as well as some of the cover words
