Resources to help teach the 'Becoming Pregnant' lesson from the new Exploring Science Scheme of Work. A PowerPoint with resources such as the T/F card sort which is a nice starter for the lesson. The 'opinion line' can be controversial but this should promote debate and engage pupils. The diamond 9 resource can be used as a SMSC link within Science. There are other resources such as the 'market place' where information is summarised by groups and then traded with each other. The 'reproduction group activity' is useful for higher ability pupils to consider other factors that can impact on a pregnancy. Finally, the 'agony aunt' dilemma should help pupils feel empathy towards teenage mothers-to-be and should influence their position on the 'opinion line' when it is reformed.
