A Christmas Carol, New GCSE English Literature Exam Preparation Units (5 - 6 Week Unit)

5-6 week unit of lessons exploring Dickens presentation of setting, of Scrooge as the outsider and of Scrooge as a redeemed character in A Christmas Carol. Focussed on a 3 separate mock exam question. The unit aims to prepare pupils for the summer examinations covering close and critical interpretation and analysis skills using staggered (differentiated) model response paragraphs (level 4 through to level 6 of the marking criteria) with highlighting and annotation techniques (fully animated) to enable pupils to understand the GCSE English Literature marking criteria and assessment objectives before practising developing their own paragraphs using this knowledge. The units then move on to expand pupils thinking to explore the task in response to the whole novel.
