Make a Path - Addition & Subtraction Game

Students ADD or SUBTRACT two of the numbers in the side panel then cover the answer out on the game board. The winner is the first to MAKE A PATH of 5 connected counters. The challenge of the game is to stop your partner making a path while you complete yours.

What You Need:

2 Players
1 Game Board
13 Counters of One Color
13 Counters of Another Color

Preparation:

2 Players sit facing the board with their counters in front of them.
The person with the longest hair goes first.

How to Play:

1. Player One either ADDs or SUBTRACTs two of the numbers in the side panel, they say the algorithm and give the answer aloud. Player One then places one of their counters on the correct orange answer button.
2. Player Two then repeats Step 1.
3. Play alternates in this fashion until one of the players has a PATH of five counters. NB This path is a snaking unbroken line of counters. The path can be a combination of horizontal, vertical and diagonal connections.

How to Win:

The first player to create a PATH of 5 counters is declared the winner.
