Lesson on Egyptian society.
Students start by discussing democracy in the UK.
Students are then assigned a role within the Egyptian social pyramid (11 roles in all) and they are to go around the classroom and interact with other students as their character. Students will then complete the worksheet highlighting the responsibilities of each role, the benefits and the drawbacks.
Students will then debate how Ancient Egypt might have been if democracy had been introduced but will argue from the point of their character.
