This play has been written to educate audiences of all ages about the heroism of Private Jack Simpson and the ANZAC forces at Gallipoli. Whilst the play is meant to be humorous in parts, it also should convey the tragedy of Private Simpson’s sacrifice.

The play is suitable for performance by children aged 8-10 (Years 4-5). There is a total of 26 roles; 1 role is recommended for acting by a girl, 3 roles are recommended for performance by boys. With doubling of roles, the play could be performed by 21 children. Alternatively, the number of roles could be enlarged to 28.

The run-time for the performance is 20 minutes. The script includes recommendations for music, suggestions for costume and set arrangement and a list of required props.
