This lesson explores the divided oppostion during the early years of Thatcher. There is a revision of why Labour remained in opposition for so long as students review the governments of Wilson and Callaghan. The formation of the SDP is analysed and there are two hyperlinked video clips which look at the impact of the party. Students are asked to rank reasons why there was divided opposition and form a judgement. A card sort and handout is also provided.

There is also a handout included with information on Thatcher’s key ministers which was the homework task from the previous lesson.
