Two lessons covering symbolism in The Handmaid’s Tale.
There is a model starter in the symbolism which allows students to look at all three Assessment Objectives and how they have been hit.
The lesson looks at literary links for two key symbols in the novel: the eye, and the colour red.

The next lesson looks at an academic essay about rape culture in the 1980s.

There is also an exam style question with an extract, the students will write about sex and how it is presented in the novel.
