A couple of interactive activities to get your students up, involved and engaged in their learning. Both activities involve the goods that were traded between countries involved in the slave trade.
Students play the role of traders, trading goods with each other to complete a set of trade goods.

Use the resources to discuss and label the trade goods, where they originated from, who they were traded with and for what.

I cleared room on the floor to do the activities but you could also have the map and labels on the board at the front of the class and students interact with it that way.

You could adapt the instructions so this can be a child-led activity.

This is an engaging teaching resource. The opportunities for interaction makes it accessible for all children. The inclusive design makes it suitable for SEND children.

Very interactive. Easy to use in an SEN classroom and easy to adapt upwards for stretch and challenge.
