Students will be able to explain what is happening at each point on the bacterial growth curve graph. With a worked example, students will learn to calculate the number of bacteria present and the number of binary fissions that occur after a certain amount of time when given the mean division time. Worked examples have been found to help those who are of a lower ability or who struggle with maths.
