This lesson looks at how the British government intervened to help deal with the unemployment problem in Britain in the 1930s

Students begin by using a dictionary to outline the definition of coalition - to understand how different groups can work together to impose policies.

Students will then analyse the different policies introduced by the government and identify if they are short term or long term solutions to the unemployment and economic problems facing Britain.

To test student understanding, they answer a question of their choice from the PPT followed by a Head, heart, Bin and Bag plenary to reflect on their learning.

A HW task is included to analyse the success/failure of the government policies
