Used as an introduction lesson for year 10 into communicable diseases topic (AQA spec). Pupils will learn what communicable diseases are, how they are spread and how they can be controlled. Includes an case study into the most recent Ebola outbreak, to evaluate the preventative measures in place and why Ebola is difficult to control. Aimed at HAPs primarily. Lots of opportunity to incorporate reading, speaking and listening into Science lessons, and also a good place to start for a debate.
