This lesson used to go horribly wrong until I changed it to present them with TL sentences FIRST. Once they've seen a bunch of sentences it's much easier to get them to adapt them and write their own. The names of TV shows can easily be changed as the ones here are starting to be a bit démodé.
Another super activity on this is to have children at the front of the room with a word each on a MWB - eg NCIS est moins violent que CSI. Quiz the rest of the class about who needs to change to make the sentence eg more violent, more interesting, less amusing etc.
