Earth Day 22 April 2024 Non fiction KS3 KS4 Global Warming Comprehension, Language analysis writing

This non fiction extract gives weaker students a simplified and broken down way of accessing a topical text. The text is about the effects of Sport on Global Warming and what can be done to minimise the impact of large sporting competitions. The first part poses comprehension and language activities to ensure the text is carefully read. The second part gives students an opportunity to write a transactional response based on the theme of the text.

This resource follows the style of Paper 2 for AQA - analysing language, writing about structure and evaluating a section of the extract. This lesson can easily be edited for the Edexcel exam specification.
